 When we were in Hawaii,  we discovered  this hidden cove.    The color of the ocean was so intensely blue, it was beautiful.    The rocks were worn smooth in spots, chiseled sharply in others.  You could feel them   holding out, standing tall, against  the rush of the ocean.  I wanted to capture on canvas, this incredible spot we found and  the emotions  I felt.

 I love to experiment with subject matter and medium. I started out with a “standard landscape” and then I poured  the fluid acrylics on the canvas in a free form manner.  It was  so much fun to do and to see an image emerge is very exciting.

 We were driving down a street we have driven down a thousand  times before. This is a pleasant but very ordinary street.    It was after a heavy snow, during one of those bone-chilling winter days  and the beauty of it was breathtaking.  This was a painting that practically painted itself.

 When we were in Scotland we took a side trip to the Isle of Skye.  On the way we spotted  this  lovely scene  through the trees.  We stopped to enjoy the view and I took a number of pictures.   This was one of the first pieces I  painted when we returned home.
