This painting is very special to me. My husband is Irish/ Italian and one of our dreams was to visit Ireland. A few years ago we “went on holiday” and found Ireland to be an incredibly beautiful country. When we visited in April, in spite of the rainy weather, we found many of the little villages “picture perfect” and the countryside lush and peaceful. I can still recall how strange it was to have daylight till 10 in the evening. But Ireland’s greatest asset, we believe, are it’s warm and welcoming people. This little village is one of the many villages we traveled through during our visit. I wanted this painting to reflect the richness and warmth we felt when experiencing Ireland. This recently completed painting will be exhibited in my up and coming International Show in September.
News and Notes
How can four months go by so quickly? That’s how long it’s been since I last posted a News and Notes. I have been busy preparing for my One Woman Show at the St. Peters Community & Arts Center located at 1035 St. Peters Howell Road, St. Peters Mo 63376. I will be exhibiting works inspired by my travels for their World Culture Series, an International Show, 2009. The reception will be at St. Peters September 18 from 6 to 8 and the show will run through October 19th. I am very excited about this exhibit. As you know art is my passion and these paintings either done “plein air” or in my studio inspired by photos or memories from our travels, are very dear to my heart. You will see other artwork of Ireland, as well as paintings of Scotland, Italy, Greece, England, and France. I hope to see you there!
